Design Engineer at Sogeti UK ltd. Working with Sogeti UK setting up a new design office to take on design and stress work packages. I have been responsible for gaining new work packages and writing the work specifications. I have created the project plans and estimates for new tasks. I have been involved in recruiting new engineers and setting out the workload. I have managed multiple work packages and given design reviews to the customer. I have been responsible for ensuring deliverables have been met and delivered on time within the estimated timescale quoted. I have still been using CATIA V5 to create parts, product, drawings and basic FEA analysis of components and products. I have been accepted as a test rig design checker for structural drawings and taken responsible for the Test readiness review and design visual inspection before test.
Concept Design, Development and detail design. Co-ordinating design tasks, managing off site work packages, data transfer, design checking, supporting and managing a design team, using CATIA V5. R18 to produce a concept and feasibility studys for Aircraft tests. Producing 3D Solid models of rig structure and composite parts for aircraft tests. Presentation of the design solutions. Writing tasking documents for sub-contract work packages and producing MS Project plans of activities required for the test.
737 Installation design - 3D modelling using CATIA V4, Working in Renton and Everett in Seattle The work involved re-designing support structure for 737 and 757 brackets and general equipment and working with the aircraft personnel to resolve access problems and make the installation of existing equipment easier.
Working in the drawings office using CADDS 5 to produce 3D parametric & surface models, detail drawing and specialised 3D stress models for the EJ200 Euro fighter, Adour 900 and the Harrier, Pegasus engines. I worked in combustion systems on the designs for a new combustion chamber, inner and outer casings, cooling hole configurations and the inlet guide vanes for both EJ200 and the Adour.
Work included, writing contract requirements, reviewing the design schemes for new equipment, the investment appraisals and the financial submissions for procurement of new equipment
