Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders
  • Maintain, develop and evolve current and future state 'cloud first' solution architectures fully in-line with the enterprise architectural direction and associated reference models that are based on a domain and systems capability view
  • Advise business and technology groups on future solution options and solution changes, outlining risks, costs, benefits, and capabilities
  • Collaborate with other solution architects and designers, business analysts and project managers on a wide range of technology projects, including software development, package implementations, and infrastructure upgrades/changes
  • Communicate and market architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies
  • Gain organizational commitment for solution architectures and related initiatives
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
  • Review new and existing initiatives for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans
  • Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions and retain responsibility and ownership for the overall integrity and architectural and where necessary design documentation of various solution architectures
  • Participate in all architectural, solution and design reviews as may be required
  • Support business and IT strategic planning and product development teams as required
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud brokerage and cloud management platforms in a multi-vendor, multi-region cloud estate
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers
  • Contributing to identifying, developing and implementing technical best practices guidelines

  • Experience with enterprise architectural frameworks, service oriented architecture and microservices architectures in a cloud context
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing global cloud based solution architectures, particularly those using DevOps and agile practices for implementation
  • Experience with enterprise architecture tools, in particular Sparx Enterprise Architect, for the development and documentation of all solution architecture artefacts
  • Understanding the IT architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience interpreting business and technical functional and nonfunctional requirements and architecting and implementing solutions that comply with these requirements in large-scale, mission-critical applications
  • Global multi-region, multi-provider solution architecture experience with large-scale, mission-critical applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related program
  • Master's degree in Computer Science preferred
