Requirements:

University PhD or Master's degree in computer science or robotics Matlab, Simulink ROS / ROS 2 C++ / Python Experience (hardware and software) with Kuka arm, Force Dimension Sigma 7 Haptic interface or equivalent. Experience with autonomous vision based pick and place. Experience with tele-operation. Extensive experience of Earth Analogue activities, particularly human-robotic surface operations, and planning/execution of science operations. An in-depth knowledge of current International Space Agency human exploration scenarios; Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and stringent schedule. Experience of working at Inter-Agency level (e.g. NASA, CSA, JAXA, Roscosmos). A working knowledge of space systems including PA and Safety Engineering for human spaceflight. Proficient in the English language (spoken and written).

Specific Tasks:

  • Support to the SFR phase A/B1 and breadboard activities with focus robotic arm
  • Support to on-going technology development activities related to Robotic Exploration, with particular focus on robotic arm and manipulation applications.
  • Support the development of HRAF and on-going pilot activity.
  • Support the development of the spaceship ECSAT with a focus on HRAF and MSRF (Mars Sample Return Facility) robotic technologies.
Ideal Candidate: 
  • University PhD or Master's degree in computer science or robotics
  • Matlab, Simulink
  • ROS / ROS 2
  • C++ / Python
