Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders
  • Maintain, develop and evolve current and future state 'cloud first' enterprise architectures and enterprise architectural direction and associated reference models based on a domain and systems capability view
  • Develop, promote, communicate, implement and apply architecture governance processes and related organisational principles, standards and policies as they apply to the cloud network architecture
  • Define and maintain best practice guidelines and standards for the enterprise architecture
  • Advise business and technology groups on future enterprise solution options, outlining risks, costs, benefits, and capabilities
  • Collaborate with solution architects and designers, business analysts and project managers on a wide range of technology projects, including software development, package implementations, and infrastructure upgrades/changes
  • Communicate and market architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies
  • Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level application architecture and related initiatives
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
  • Review new and existing initiatives for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans
  • Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions and retain responsibility for the overall integrity of the architecture
  • Support business and IT strategic planning and product development teams as required
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in a stakeholder management/engagement role
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software-defined networks (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), cloud brokerage and cloud management platforms in a multi-vendor, multi-region cloud estate
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers
  • Contributing to identifying, developing and implementing technical best practices guidelines

  • Experience with enterprise architecture tools, in particular Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • Ability to establish, implement and enforce appropriate standards to meet business requirements
  • Understanding the IT architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
  • Global multi-region, multi-provider cloud networking architecture experience with large-scale, mission-critical applications
  • Experience in IP Networking - Routing, Switching, BGP, MPLS, OSPF etc., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade (CCIE preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related program
  • Master's degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Experience in working with customers in identifying their business and technical requirements, and designing and/or implementing optimal cloud networking solutions
  • Experience in migrating and/or extending on-premises networks to the cloud
  • Experience in troubleshooting and solving networking issues

  • VMWare NSX design and implementation
  • Virtualization, SDN, NFV
  • Public and hybrid cloud
  • Experience with Load Balancers f5, Citrix etc.
  • Multi-site load balancing, DNS
  • VPN, IPSEC, SSL, GRE tunneling
  • Access Control Lists, Security groups
  • Perimeter firewalls, Web application firewalls
  • IPv6, BYoIP, Network Address Translation (NAT)
  • Scripting knowledge
  • Experience in a client-facing role
