Assistant Project Controller

Description: 

Sapienza is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Project Controller to assist the project controllers in a variety of tasks. The post holder will report to the Head of Business Analysis & IT Support Service and be responsible for the implementation of contracts and contract changes in esa-p. The contracts are related to multiple missions, studies and/or services.

  • Prepare and administrate and monitor procurement actions, contracts as well as contract Change Notes (CCNs). Manage these processes in the ESA SAP system (esa-p) as well as in Excel or other tools as required. This includes:
  • Actively and timely manage all Goods Received Notes (GRNs) in the project and act as the first verification point with respect to their formal correctness
  • Assign the internal approval cycle of GRNS according to the prevailing rules and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain all procurement and contract actions in ESA-p: POs, PATPS, CCNs, etc.
  • Support the registration of new companies in the ESA-p process and support potential updates of already registered companies
  • Support in the administrative process of implementing the so called “Best Practices of selection of sub-contractors”
  • Maintain the Contract Change Notes status list
  • Prepare and assist in producing financial and programmatic status reporting as required
  • Support the Project Controllers in the introduction of new management or financial procedures/tools
Ideal Candidate: 
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in project or financial control
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent degree in a relevant field (Business Administration or Finance)
  • Experience as a user of ESA-p
  • Familiarity with modern office automation tools and techniques, in particular Microsoft Office with a specialty in Excel, and in modern planning and project control tools
  • Knowledge of ESA administrative and financial processes is a definite advantage
  • Good sense of contacts and communications, ability to interface at appropriate level with relevant actors within and outside of the Directorate
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize complex data
  • High level of team spirit and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of English, additional knowledge of another ESA member state language is desirable
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU
